The Stockton Volunteer Fire Department’s proposal to build a new post office for the community is being backed by the Stockton Town Board. Preliminary plans for the new building, to be located on Route 380 almost directly across from the fire hall, have been unveiled. The property on which the proposed post office is to be built was purchased for $15,000, using the department funds and a $10,000 gift from Don Piersons. The property will be known as “Piersons Acres.”
