After 32 years of service, Maurice C. Marz has retired as a rural route carrier for the Sinclairville Post Office. He began his career on a rural mail route that covered 47 miles and delivered mail to 135 rural route boxholders. At present, his route covers 74 miles with deliveries to 385 boxholders. Mr. Marz reminisced that his first day on the job coincided with Valentine’s Day and he had a number of families on the route with the same last name so was fearful of delivering the wrong Valentine to the wrong youngster. He was given a safe driving award for having driven over a half-million miles without an accident.
