Thirty years ago — 1991
Jerry Hill is the new high school principal at Cassadaga Valley Central School. He announced that the high school enrollment this year is 393 students, which is 33 more than last year. He complimented the students saying, “The students at Cassadaga Valley Central School are respectful and well behaved. They are without a doubt the best I have ever encountered.”
Forty years ago — 1981
Calendar Girl for the month of September is Colleen R. Getman of First Street, South Dayton, daughter of Linda Getman of South Dayton and Terence Getman of Dayton. A senior at Pine Valley Central School, Colleen is a business-secretarial major and a member of the cheerleading squad and school band. She also is a member of the PVCS 1981 championship girls’ softball team.
Fifty years ago — 1971
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts opened in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Rose Kennedy, 81-year-old matriarch of the Kennedy family, led the procession into the new $70 million complex.
