Thirty years ago — 1991

The 110th anniversary of the Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church in Fredonia was observed Sept. 8 with a celebration that included a message from Dr. Donald MacPhee on “An Historical Perspective.” The Fredonia Free Methodist Church was located on Lambert Avenue from its founding 110 years ago until 1970 when membership growth made necessary the sale of the property and purchase of the property on Matteson Avenue.

Forty years ago — 1981

Sixty members of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Guild attended the tureen dinner and business meeting in the school hall, with Miss Gertrude Ortlieb presiding. Speaker for the event was seminarian Michael J. Parker of Dunkirk, who is currently at student at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora. Mr. Parker gave an illustrated talk covering Rome and the Holy Land.

Fifty years ago — 1971

Barbara Boccia, daughter ofMr. andMrs. Carmen Boccia, 116 Lakeview Ave., Fredonia is beginning her third year of study at Albany Medical College.
