Retrospective

Thirty years ago — 1991

The Fredonia Rotary Club has sponsored students to live abroad and hosted students from other countries for more than 25 years. Curtis Bjurlin recently spent a year in Skovde, Sweden while Nathalie Boeuf has just arrived from Brest, France and will be attending Fredonia High School. She is currently staying with Dr. and Mrs. John Onufrak of Fredonia. Dr. Onufrak is president of the Fredonia Rotary Club.

Forty years ago — 1981

A farewell party honoring the Rev. Donald L. Measer was held recently at the Newman Center in Fredonia. Father Measer is leaving the area for a new assignment at Daemen College in Amherst. He served at the Fredonia Newman Center for 14 years. Ordained in 1963, Father Measer entered the seminary after serving three years in the U.S. Navy.

Fifty years ago — 1971

Tonight’s new fall line-up of television programs on NBC includes: “I Dream of Jeannie,” “Petticoat Junction,” “Flip Wilson Show,” and the “Dean Martin Show.”
