Thirty years ago — 1991

Dr. Anthony Bongiovanni of Dunkirk was one of several members of the public to speak during a recent public hearing in Dunkirk by the Community Task Force Toward Crime Prevention. Dr. Bongiovanni, whose home was recently burglarized, said he was speaking not only as a mental health professional, but also as a crime victim.

Forty years ago — 1981

Students chosen earlier this month as Silver Creek’s Homecoming Court included Tina Stanbro, queen; Randy Gibbon, king; Chris Nowak, prince; Sue LaBarbera, princess; Matthew Sack, duke; Sandy Kowalski, duchess; Ken Simpson, count; and Holly Domst, countess. Nearly 100 students attended the annual dance. This year’s theme song was “Endless Love.”
