Thirty years ago — 1991

The first in a series of nationwide roundtables to explore the needs of midlife women was hosted by the Everywoman Opportunity Center Inc. in Dunkirk at the request of the Women’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor. Dept. of Labor representatives considered the problems raised by the women at the meeting and sought possible solutions to the barriers women face in their search to provide a higher quality of life for their families.

Forty years ago — 1981

Back from a successful elk hunting trip in Pagosa Springs, Colo., are brothers Rodney Hall and Donald S. Hall, both of Fredonia. Rodney downed an 800-pound elk while hunting in the company of his brother, a Chautauqua Road resident, and father, Donald F. Hall of Denver, Colo.

Fifty years ago — 1971

The 57th birthday of Court St. Catherine 250, Catholic Daughters of America, was celebrated with a Mass at St. Mary’s Church. A dinner followed at the Holiday Inn.
