Thirty years ago — 1991

Peter F. Gavin, a senior at Fredonia State University College majoring in chemistry, was named one of five national recipients of the Analytical Chemistry Award based upon his performance in the twosemester analytical chemistry sequence. The award followed his nomination by the Fredonia chemistry faculty for the award sponsored by the Eastern Analytical Symposium.

Forty years ago — 1981

Gini Gollnitz rolled a new high in the Dunkirk Women’s Bowling Association. Bowling in the Monday Mixed Doubles League at Vineyard Lanes in Westfield, she rolled games of 236-266-221 for 723. She rolled her high series on lanes 5 and 6. A 171 average bowler, her previous high series was 600. Gini bowls twice a week. Rose Todd of Silver Creek rolled the previous high series of 691.

Fifty years ago — 1971

Mary Ann Lancione, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Lancione of Hanover Road, Silver Creek, has been named recipient of the Good Citizen Award by the Major Benjamin Bosworth Chapter NSDAR.
