Thirty years ago — 1992
The first baby of 1992 born at Westfield Hospital was Paula Marie Durant, daughter of Scott and Jacqueline (Caron) Durant, 6040 West Lake Road, Lot 45, Brocton. Paula Marie arrived a 11:21 a.m. on Jan. 2 weighing 10 pounds, 5 ounces and was 22 inches long. She has three brothers and sisters — Francis, 2; Deena, 5; and Lynn, 14.
Forty years ago — 1982
Sharon Fenton, president of the Jamestown-based Chautauqua County Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club, has been selected as the guest speaker for the organizational meeting of the Northern Chautauqua County Mothers of Twins and Triplets Club. The meeting will be held at the home of Jean Dill, 173 West Sixth St., Dunkirk. The goals of the new club are to offer moral support, provide clothing and furniture referrals and to organize child activities, among others.
Fifty years ago — 1972
Joseph Gerace, chairman of the Chautauqua County Legislature, has announced the appointment of William D. Kelly of Fredonia as county Civil Defense director.
