Thirty years ago — 1992
Slowly but surely the Vineyards of Fredonia Townhouse Project seems to be falling through. Financing for the project has not been secured and the Fredonia Planning Board is not happy as members have put over two years of work into the project. If the necessary paper work regarding financing is not filed by the upcoming deadline, the project would become a dead issue.
Forty years ago — 1982
The Brocton-Portland Community has begun the project of building a children’s playground located on the Brocton school grounds. This is no ordinary playground, but an educational, fun-filled construction, which will develop children’s mental and physical abilities. Beyond this, it is a creation of the children from their ideas and input. The creation of this playground by Robert S. Leathers, recreational architect from Ithaca, will involve the total community.
Fifty years ago — 1972
Joseph L. Kozlowski, president of the Dunkirk Board of Education, has been elected to the Board of Education of the Chautauqua County Board of Cooperative Educational Service (BOCES).
