Dunkirk’s beautiful waterfront and parks will be the backdrop for the “Dunkirk to Dunkerque” Day scheduled for Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Events include frisbee golf, sand castle contest, road rally, antique car show, wind-surfing races as well as softball, volleyball and horseshoe tournaments. If this year’s event proves successful, city officials would like to invite teams from Dunkirk’s “sister city,” Dunkerque, France, to participate in future “Dunkirk to Dunkerque” days.
