Westminster College senior Karen Grace has been selected to play this summer with the NAIA USA All-Star Team, which will compete in Australia in June. A graduate of Dunkirk High School, where she also starred in basketball, Grace is currently the captain of the Westminster softball team. She is batting .364 after three seasons and splits her time between first base and catcher. The 20-member squad selected to go to Australia was based on nominations from coaches at all NAIA schools.

The quest for Cabbage Patch dolls is causing uprisings in stores throughout the nation. Yesterday in Miami, hundreds of shoppers were kicked, scratched and pummeled — all while trying to get their hands on one of the Christmas season’s hottest items — a 16-inch Cabbage Patch doll which sells for around $22. The popular dolls are a mass-produced version of Georgia’s Little People, the handmade dolls created by mountain artisan Xavier Roberts. Each one of his creations sells for as much as $1,000.
