Thirty years ago — 1993 Ground was broken Aug. 31 on The Resource Center’s expansion project at 186 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk. The biggest phase of the project is the construction of a building to house a Day Treatment Program. The Day Treatment building will encompass 17,000 square feet and will cost $2,014,300. The Program will serve adults with developmental disabilities who have significant functional deficits. Thirty years ago — 1993 Chairman and chief executive officer of the Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. William Davis told the OBSERVER today that at the current time the Dunkirk facility is one of the company’s most cost effective plants and things that could affect this status would be increases in the cost of implementing environmental controls and significant increases in property taxes. Ms. Hanlon also will continue her duties as an assistant district attorney for Chautauqua County. She has practiced law in the county for over a year in private practice in Westfield and with the DA’s office. Hanlon, a Pace University Law School graduate, is married and lives in Westfield.
