SALVATION ARMY: Area can help with holidays

For those who may not have noticed, there is a new energy at the Salvation Army in Dunkirk. Besides its traditional and respected youth basketball program, it now houses the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County and has a growing number of individuals and families it is helping throughout the year and during the holidays.

Most notably at this time of year are the bell ringers, who are visible outside stores while many are making preparations for the Thanksgiving dinner this Thursday.

Of course you can help the Salvation Army. The easiest way is to donate some cash and loose change to the kettle campaign, which has a goal of $57,000. Or, you can volunteer to ring the bell locally.

There is always a need for assistance in our community. If you can help, call 366-3701.
