Chautauqua County Legislator Bob Scudder continues to be a consistent voice regarding the future of the airports. Last week, he was the lone vote against hangar funding for the Jamestown facility.

Scudder, R-Fredonia, is the only legislator who is voting based on the actions of his constitutents. In recent commitee meetings, Scudder has noted that while the county, state and federal government continue to pour money into the facilities in Jamestown and Dunkirk residents here have not responded by using the services.

Instead, those same residents choose to fly out of Buffalo, Erie, Pa., and sometimes airports farther away.

If not now, when does the funding to under-utilized facilities stop?
