FOOTBALL Opening win sets a tone
Back when the Buffalo Bills were the team to beat in the American Football Conference — more than 25 years ago — there was a commercial that promoted the city. In it, the announcer noted there were five seasons: winter, spring, summer, fall and football season.
To this day, that fact remains. No matter how bad the Bills have been for the last two decades, many here are passionate about how the team does.
On Sunday, after 2 1/2 quarters of poor football, the Bills got it together to knock off the rival New York Jets, 17-16. Finally, there appears to be a little hope.
