‘REVOLUTION’ Seven receive special opportunity

Some are voicing somewhat disappointing opinions regarding the seven sites selected to be featured on the “Small Business Revolution” for Season 5 from Fredonia. That, however, does not mean we cannot continue to celebrate this community achievement.

“Small Business Revolution” has made this commitment to Fredonia: invest $500,000 while giving the village a national spotlight, so to speak. After the announcement by the program on Friday of the seven businesses — Fresh & Fancy Flowers & Gifts, Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County, The Hair Bar, Om Nohm Gluten Free, Nyce and Clean Premium Detailing, The Vineyards Golf Course and Lena’s Pizza and Sub Shop — it did not take long for some naysayers to hit social media.

That’s unfortunate. We all worked together positively for this to happen.

To be fair, all businesses are significant to this community. They donate to worthy charitable causes and offer significant services that impact our lives in northern Chautauqua County. We knew going in that not every business was going to be a finalist.

So our congratulations to the selected seven. We’re proud you will be representing all of us and showcasing what makes this area so special.
