SWIMMING: Strong showing at state event
Two Fredonia High School swimmers made waves this past weekend at at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association swimming and diving championships at Ithaca College. Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer, a freshman, finished in 11th place in the diving competition while senior Tori Spacciapolli went out on a high note as a senior finishing 14th and earning a medal.
This season’s competitions were obviously very different from last year when attendance limits were placed to due COVID and competitions were scaled back during 2020. “I’m excited that we’ve made it,” said Fredonia head coach Joanne Lotter said before the weekend’s event. “It’s a piece of normalcy everyone was wanting back and it’s exciting.”
During the fall season, Fredonia has some outstanding achievements. These two also deserve accolades.
