Fredonia Volunteer’s work deserves applause

For years, many of those who are greatly involved in village activities have known that Larry Fiorella is the engine that makes Festival Fredonia run. Fiorella, who is consistently giving back to the community he lives in, is dedicated and tireless in overseeing the happenings and events that take place throughout the year in the municipality.

On Friday, he will be recognized countywide as the recipient of this year’s Pam Lydic Coalition Builder Award.

In a nomination letter submitted to the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Sheila Starkey Hahn of Fredonia noted, “Larry not only spends countless volunteer hours on Festivals Fredonia events, but he takes the time to get to know his volunteer teams and business owners. He works collaboratively with everyone to ensure that Fredonia remains a vibrant community which continues to attract residents and entrepreneurs.”

In last weekend’s Chamber Corner, Fiorella was credited as being instrumental in bringing together volunteers from a cross-section of organizations in Fredonia to not only support the work of the Chamber of Commerce and Festivals Fredonia, but also as a champion for Small Business Revolution in 2020. He also is the treasurer for Partners in Kind and Adjutant, Secretary, and Finance Manager for the Fredonia Memorial Post 59 American Legion. In addition to his volunteer work, Fiorella is a financial advisory at HBKS Wealth Management.

Talk about having your hands full.

Fiorella, after receiving the award, will get right back to contributing to the community on Saturday. That’s when the annual Miracle on Main Street event takes place in the village.

We offer our congratulations.
