Silver Creek alum Frank Brown
Hobart College first-year midfielder, and member of Silver Creek’s Class of 2012, Frank Brown, was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week by the conference office this week. He enjoyed a strong collegiate debut, producing four points and three ground balls as the Statesmen beat Siena 18-15.

NCSA to hold travel team registration
Feb. 9, Feb. 16
The spring travel season for the competitive branch of the Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association (NCSA) will kick off soon. The travel club known as NC Concord competes in the Southern Tier Travel Soccer League (STTSL). This year the club will field teams in the U-10 co-ed, U-12, U-14 and U-17 boys and girls divisions.
Player registration will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m., to noon, in the Fredonia High School cafeteria and Saturday, Feb. 16 from 9 a.m., to noon in the Dunkirk High School cafeteria.
Registration fees are $80 for the U-10 co-ed division, $90 for the U-12 division, $100 for the U-14 division and $110 for the U-17 divisions.
The uniform fee is separate from the registration fee. Need-based scholarships are available on a limited basis. Forms are available online at www.myncsa.com.
If anyone is unable to attend in-person registration, they should mail completed registration and uniform order forms, payment, copy of birth certificate and a 2″ x 3″ wallet sized photo to NCSA, P.O. Box 331, Fredonia, NY 14063. Make check payable to “NCSA.”
The STTSL was established in 1991 to fill the need for a more competitive program than the summer recreational model for committed, talented youth soccer players. Teams from Chautauqua County participate, as well as teams from Erie County, Cattaraugus County and Bradford, Pa.
Bi-weekly practices for travel soccer begin in March. Games are typically held on Sunday afternoons, beginning April 27-28 and concluding with the play-off tournament at the end of June. Plans are under way for all NC Concord teams to participate in a tournament in June.
Questions about NC Concord should be directed to Vice President of Travel Jim Enser at enzo2@adelphia.net.
