Steelers 5, Webster 4

The Steelers scored three goals in the third period to overcome a two-goal deficit in the victory. Zach Rybak, Jared Glowniak, Dylan Hamed and Nicholas Pchelka each had a goal and an assist. Nolan Mages scored the game-winner while Brandon Prentiss had a pair of assists.

Goaltenders Nicolas Novelli and Gabe Persch had 14 saves.

Bud Bakewell 2, NCCYHA Steelers 2

Goaltender Nicolas Novelli made 31 saves as the Steelers tied Bud Bakewell.

Nolan Mages and Jared Glowniak had the goals for the Steelers as Mages and Rybak added the assists.

Steelers 3, Livingston County 2

Coming off a 12-0 loss to Batavia, the Steelers rebounded in a pivotal game over Livingston County.

Zach Rybak, Dylan Hamed and Tyler Sack scored the goals while Michael Persch, Brennan Rakoska, Nicholas Pchelka and Jared Glowniak were credited with an assist each in a 37-shot attack.

Nicolas Novelli had 30 saves for the winners.

Bud Bakewell 6, Steelers 3

Carter D’Agostino had a pair of goals in a loss at Buffalo. Dylan Hamed added a goal while Jackson Taylor, Zach Rybak and Nicholas Pchelka were credited with assists.

Gabriel Persch had 30 saves in net.

Steelers 2, Perinton 2

Nicolas Novelli had 35 saves in securing the tie for the Steelers. Carter D’Agostino and Jared Glowniak were credited with the goals and Tyler Sack and Jackson Taylor tallied assists.

In the rematch with Perinton a week later, the Blades won in a shutout.

P-Dubs 8,  BJ’s 3

Goals for P-Dubs went to Greg McQuiggan (2), Jeff Huyck, Josh Polak, Mike Rozewicz, Steven Meyers, Dave Wright and Nick Huyck. Assists for PDubs were credited to Polak (3), Derek Sheridan, Rozewicz and Jeff Huyck.

Tom O’Connor Sr. netted two goals and Mark Zaffalon had one for the losers. O’Connor and Ron Friend each had an assist.

Merritt Winery 6, Dunkirk Falcons 2

Jerry Tramuta scored two goals while Dave Houck, Dave Myers, Chris Schurr and Mike Szach each had one for Merritt.  Assists for Merritt went to Kevin Smith (2), Justin Nediceque and Houck.

Cory Dziduch and Matt Ginley each scored for the Falcons with Justin Giles getting an assist.

CCHA C League

Heenan’s 5, Kosciuszko Club 4

Goals for Heenan’s were credited to Ron Pachol (2), Jeff Jamieson, Kevin Smith and Jeff Huyck with Don Bley getting three assists in the win. Jamieson and Tim Thexton each had one for the winners.

Frank Leonard recorded a hat trick and Derek Backert had one goal in defeat. Chris Nickle had two assists with Derek Backert and Adam Woefle adding one apiece in the win.

Lakeview Shock 5, Coughlan’s 1

CJ Vara and Dan Gornikiewicz each scored two goals while Jim Azzarella had one for Shock. Assists went to Mark Taylor, Keith Mages, Bryan McCoy and Jim Eschberger.

Coughlan’s received its lone goal from Jim Lamanski.

Lakeview Shock 5, Wicked Glen 1

Jim Eschberger lit the lamp twice while Mike Korzeniewski, Bryan McCoy and Justin Nediceyuva each had one.

Assists for Shock went to McCoy (2), Tony Privitera, Matt Polvino, Nediceyuva, Mike Korzeniewski and CJ Vara.

Dave Silajyi scored Wicked Glen’s lone thanks to helper from Drew Carriero.

Southern Tier 2, Beaver Club 2

Josh Eppinger and Mike Hallmark each scored a goal for Southern Tier while Tony Manzella and Seth Meyers each had one for Beaver Club.

Southern Tier assists went to Mike Hallmark and Joe Hallmark Sr. while Chris Mackrell had two helpers and Brian Zambotti had one for Beaver Club.

Sign-up started for 2017 Cheer & Dance show

Registration for the 2017 Fredonia Cheerleading & Dance Competition has begun.

The event will take place Sunday, Jan. 22, in the Steele Hall Fieldhouse.

It will consist of a cheerleading competition for both All-Star and scholastic teams and a dance competition. The scholastic cheering portion is sanctioned by the New York State Public High School Association while the dance competition will follow Universal Dance Association guidelines.
