Concord FC 2, FAYS 1
Concord FC 11U team remains unbeaten after beating previously unbeaten FAYS in a cold wet match Saturday afternoon in Fredonia. Scoring the first goal and setting up the other was Henry Leone. Sam Pietro scored the second goal for Concord. David Barrett played keeper earning the win on a very soggy field, only allowing a late penalty shot to get by him. Haylee Babar was a defensive standout playing the whole game. Other players of note were M aximus Sterniolo and Carley Wilson, both helping keep possession and clearing the ball out at key times. Anthony Piede, Bradon Gustafson, and Eli Greenough also positively contributed at midfield and defense for Concord in their team’s win. Haylee also earned the star patch from the other team for her play.

The Hillview Tuesday night men’s league is cancelled for this week the 9th.

18th Annual Crouse 5K Challenge
The 18th Annual Crouse 5K Challenge will be held on Sunday, May 21 at 12:00 p.m., at the American Legion in downtown Gowanda. The evnt will be a half-mile fun run for children and a tot sprint will follow the 5K Challenge. Entry forms can be obtained by using the website: gtownfit.weebly.com or Facebook: GTownFit or contact Jennifer M. Gernatt at 860-8782 or email JenniferGernatt@yahoo.com. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and shirts are guaranteed only for the first 100 registered. Proceeds benefit the Gowanda Central School, Dennis Crouse Sr., Scholarship Fund and the Blue by U Youth Track Club. There will be a pre-race pancake breakfast from 8:00 to11 a.m. and a Chinese auction sponsored by the Class of 2019 at the American Legion.
