Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet set for April 7
The 16th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame Banquet will be held on Saturday, April 7 at the Little Valley Legion beginning at 6 p.m.
This year’s inductees include: Mike Wilber (Allegany-Limestone), Todd Conley (Randolph), Steve Brundage (Salamanca), Chuck Struble (Hinsdale), Jana Landahl (Pioneer), James Hebdon (West Valley), Dave Waugh (Portville, posthumously), Dick Stitzel (Gowanda), Bob Ring (Olean), Harley Butler (Franklinville), Tim Miller (Cattaraugus-Little Valley), Joseph Delity (Ellicottville, posthumously), Adam Delity (Ellicottville) and Wally Holland (Ellicottville).
A limited number of tickets at $25 are still available for the event. All tickets must be reserved by calling Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email hidibenton@aol.com.
Family Martial Arts Center to host ‘Fitness and Knowledge’
The Family Martial Arts Center is hosting a free youth program, “Fitness and Knowledge,” for all Chautauqua County children ages 2 through 18 years old. The program is designed to help families seek positive searches for activities for all their children instead of video games. Keeping the youth active is the goal.
The week-long free program is sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of NCC and The Family Martial Arts Center and will be held at 355 Central Ave., Fredonia (next to Family Video). Program trial is March 26 through March 31. Classes will be held 5:30 p.m. Mondays, 6 p.m. Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. Saturdays. Call 672-6683 for more information.
East Coast Snocross presents SNOX this weekend, March 24-25, at Peek’n Peek Resort
East Coast Snocross is holding SNOX, a snocross event at Peek’n Peek Resort in Clymer, this Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25. Admission is $15 per day, $25 for the weekend. Kids ages 7 and under are free. Racer gates open at 7am, while spectator gates open at 10am. Beginner courses for anyone interested in snocross are available both days. Registration set for Asquith Senior Golf Tour
Registration for the Art Asquith Senior Golf Tour will be held at the South Hills Country Club on Monday, April 16th at 10 a.m. Registration for golfers 60 years old and older will be $20 with coffee and donuts available. The Art Asquith Senior Golf Tour has 24 matches scheduled for this year at courses around the Western New York and Western Pennsylvania area. The cost of golf, cart and light lunch is $23 and the tour has six flights with small prizes awarded weekly. For more information, please see www.sgolftour.com.
The Art Asquith Senior Tour is participating again in the “Bunkers in Baghdad” program which provides golf balls to our troops. Please bring the golf balls you wish to donate to registration.
