Vineyards Friday Night Adult Couples League

We will begin the couples league next Friday, June 15 with a 5 p.m. shotgun start. The format is a nine-hole, two-couple (four golfers) scramble with a catered dinner by Mannings Catering to follow golf. There will also be prizes awarded after the dinner. You need to be signed up no later than Wednesday, June 13 by 7 p.m. so that we have a count for the dinner. Please call the Vineyards office at 672-7888 by Wednesday, June 13 by 7 p.m. to sign up for golf. Any questions, you can call Bob Manning at 679-5799 or John Lakas at 679-6890.

Wednesday Travel League

Ron Rys shot the low round of 79 at Shorewood Country Club. Al Etzel was one-stroke behind with 80 and Dave Criscione finished third with 81. Rys and Jake Harp led the front nine with 39 while Etzel led the back nine with 39. The win was the 41st of Rys’ career, moving him past Tony Nicosia into fifth-place on the all-time tour victories list. Other flight winners were Tim Walawender (B), Tom Destro (C) and Joe Polichetti (D). The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Lee Titus.

Women Who Golf for Fun

Golfers continue to play every Wednesday at the Vineyards with a noon tee off time-weather permitting. All skill levels and abilities are welcome, no season long commitment, play when convenient. Dunkirk Senior League

EDFF defeats Nate George. Anna Delcamp made her first start on the mound a successful one. She pitched 3 innings of no hit ball and struck out 6. Makayla Shaffer got the save. Offensively for EDFF Aaliyah Morales led the way with a grand slam and single and Ashlynn Delcamp belted a triple and singled. For Nate George Chelsey Tramuto was tough on the mound. Tramuto and Kylee Tolbert combined for several nice defensive plays. Damerielys Cruz stepped up and made her debut behind the plate catching and did a great job. Brooklyn Rush chipped in with a single.

CHRIC golf tournament set for July 28

MAYVILLE — Chautauqua Home Rehabilitation Improvement Corporation (CHRIC) will be holding its third annual CHRIC Classic Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 28 at the Chautauqua Golf Club, 4731 West Lake Road, Chautauqua.

Josh Freifeld, executive director of the CHRIC Board of Directors, invites the community to come join CHRIC for a day of golfing fun. Registration and lunch starts at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start on Lake Course. Entry fee is $100 a player or $400 a foursome which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch, two drink tickets, appetizers, music, cocktails and dinner. For friends and family wishing to join in the dinner festivities, there is a $30 dinner only option.
