(July 26) — U-6: Shurfine beat Lula Roe, 6-3. Scoring for Shurfine was Antonia Bonasera with six goals. Scoring for LuLa Roe was Levi Hall with two goals and MaraLyn Hebner with one goal.

King Kone won against Storer’s Cyclones, 3-2. Scoring for King Kone was Hunter Edson with three goals. Scoring for Storer’s was Dominic Armstrong.

Regular season standings: 1st place: King Kone. 2nd place: Shurfine. 3rd place: Storer’s Cyclones. 4th place: LuLa Roe. 5th place: Roy G Biv.

U-8: Homestead Stables won against Park Church, 3-2. Scoring for Homestead was Brody Hawkins with two goals and Sydney Hawkins with one goal. Scoring for Park Church was Madison Hinton and Jaydyne Crowell.

Scoring for Southern Chautauqua FCU was Haydn Myers with two goals.

Cassadaga Kids Triathlon set for Aug. 18

This fun event will be held for kids 17 and under in Cassadaga at 9 a.m. Aug. 18. Stay fit and learn new skills while having a great time with new friends.

All that you need is a swim suit, a bicycle and helmet, and a pair of running shoes.

Swim in beautiful Cassadaga Lake, cycle around the lake (all right hand turns, never crossing traffic) and run along Dale Drive next to the lake.

— 11 & under: Swim 100 meters, bike 3 miles, run 1 mile.

— Ages 12 – 17: Swim 200 meters, bike 6 miles, run 1 mile.

Age group awards and wave starts as follows: 16 & 17 years old, 14 & 15, 12 & 13, 10 & 11, 8 & 9, 6 & 7, 5 & under.

Transition open at 7 a.m. Pre-race meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. in which all athletes are required to attend and must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.

Race is USAT-sanctioned and one day event insurance coverage is required and purchased at registration on race day if not an active USAT member. All USAT rules and regulations apply. The race will be held rain or shine.

There will be an award ceremony following the race.

Wilson Endurance Sports also produces the Southern Tier Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series ,which is a sprint triathlon held on one Wednesday evening a month in Cassadaga, as well as weekly practice sessions.

Team New Era to hold tryouts for 2019 squad

Gary Tripp Golf Tourney signups end Aug. 6

The Tenth and Final Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament (GTMGT) plans are progressing and on the First Tee. The 2018 tournament is set for Aug. 25 at the Vineyards golf courses in Fredonia. Registration starts at 9 a.m. The shotgun start is at 10 a.m.

The registration fee of $65 per golfer includes food on the course and dinner at the Kosciuszko Club and a golfer’s gift. The deadline to sign up is Aug. 6. Contact Katie or Pat at 366-1044. Extra foursome forms and sponsor forms will be available at the K Club.

Monies raised from past tournaments have been used to establish an annual Gary Tripp Colorectal Cancer Research fund at Roswell Park, an annual GTMGT Dunkirk High School Scholarship and an annual donation to the GTMGT SUNY Fredonia Scholarship.
