Friday Night Pairs League — The Friday Night Pairs League thanks the Vineyards Golf Course and staff for making accommodations to our league that helps make our golfing experience most enjoyable. 19 golfers played Friday, then shared in a chicken and biscuit dinner, dessert provided by the Daniels. Low score, with a 32, was the Korzienewski team. The longest successful putt was won by Paul Leone. Congrats to all.

Vineyards Junior Golf Program begins Tuesday

The Vineyards Junior Golf Program with Greg Catalono will be on Tuesdays in July, beginning July 2, through July 30, with one date on Friday, July 5. The cost is $75 for the five lessons and one tournament date. The time will be 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. If you wish to sign up or have questions, please call 672-7888 and ask for Jason.

Black Knight Hall of Fame golf tourney July 8

Silver Creek is hosting the Black Knight Hall of Fame golf tournament at Tri-County Country Club, in Forestville. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 8, beginning at 11 a.m. The cost is $80 for non-members or $60 for members. To register, contact Sean Helmer at (716) 572-3634.

Fredonia Midget Football registration July 9

On July 9, at the Fredonia baseball complex on 42 Clinton Ave from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Fredonia Football Midget League will hold registrations for football and cheerleading. Participants must be 8 years of age by Aug. 1 and no older than 13 years of age. Registration fee is $70 for the first participant and $30 for any participant in the same household thereafter.

Kickball tourney set July 21 for medical research

SILVER CREEK — The public is encouraged to participate in the 5th annual One Small Kick for Prader-Willi Syndrome kickball tournament scheduled Sunday, July 21, on the campus of the Silver Creek Central School District, 1 Dickinson St.

Prader-Willi is a rare and incurable genetic disorder characterized by intellectual disabilities and behavior problems, among numerous other symptoms. Tournament proceeds will support One Small Step for Prader-Willi Syndrome and international walks/events benefitting The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research.

The cost to register is $200 for teams of 8 to 12 players or $20 per player if signing up as an individual. Sign-ins start at 9 a.m. with games at 10 a.m. and an awards presentation at 12:30 p.m.

Gowanda 16U softball tourney set for July 27

Gowanda Recreation will hold their annual 16U girls fast pitch softball tournament on Saturday, July 27 at Gateway Park. This is a four-team, round tournament with each team guaranteed three games. Awards and prizes for each team that participates. Entry fee is $65. Call Recreation Director Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email hidibenton@gmail.com to register a team.

Randy Goss Memorial tournament is Aug. 17

The 19th annual Randy Goss Memorial golf tournament will be on Aug. 17 at The Vineyards Golf Course with a 9 a.m. shotgun start (be at the course by 8:15). This is a two-person scramble format, $60 per golfer. That includes 18 holes of golf, cart, CTPs on every hole, skins, lunch and dinner by Freds at Dom Polskis club.
