Fredonia’s offense shines in win over Lake Shore
ANGOLA – The Fredonia Lady Hillbillies cranked out 19 hits and used a seven-run sixth inning to pull away from Lake Shore, 10-4, Monday in non-league high school softball.
Mckenna Leid led the offensive attack with three doubles and four RBIs. Caitlyn Cybart had three hits with a double and two RBIs while Leah Richir had three hits and a RBI. Eighth-grader Grace Mroczaka had two hits in her first varsity action.
“We swang the bats real well and are getting ready for playoffs,” Fredonia coach Bob Sievert said.
Hannah Cybart pitched six strong innings as she scattered eight eights and struck out six. She gave up three runs – two of which were earned. Riley Drummond pitched one inning and struck out two.
The Lady Hillbillies now gear up for the playoffs. It was announced Monday they have earned the No. 3 seed in the Class B-2 bracket and will host Wilson on Thursday at 5 p.m.
