Swimmers advance in three events at state championships

ITHACA — Fredonia High School swimmers are going to the finals today after placing in the top 30 at three events in the preliminary rounds of the state championship meet Friday at Ithaca College.

Riley Drummond broke her own FHS records in both the 100 freestyle (53.65) and the 100 backstroke (56.34). In the 100 back, she was only .24 seconds behind the top time in Friday’s preliminaries and will be seeded fourth today. Her 100 free seed will be No. 26.

Drummond, Tori Spacc, Mackenzie Quinn and Lillee Gould had a time of 1:51.20 in the 200 medley relay Friday and are seeded 19th in the finals.
