FREWSBURG — Frewsburg scored multiple runs in every inning en route to an 18-5 non-league baseball win over Cassadaga Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

Nick Marsh led the Bears’ (5-0, 1-0 CCAA East 2) offense with two hits, including a double, and three RBIs while Trent Gray also had two hits and three runs scored. Reid Bjork tripled, drove in a run and scored twice while Mark Mammoser doubled and scored two runs.

Playing as the visiting team due to field conditions in Sinclairville, Frewsburg scored four runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by Marsh’s three-run bases-clearing double.

Mammoser doubled and scored on a wild pitch in the second inning before Ryan Schrecengost’s two-run single scored Gray and Tim Wright. Nolan Brink was hit by a pitch and scored on Bjork’s triple in the third inning before an Aaron Hair single brought home Bjork to make it 9-1.

Leading 11-2 entering the top of the fifth, the Bears scored seven times to put the game away.

Wright earned the win, throwing a five-inning complete game with six strikeouts and two walks.

Connor Crabtree was 2 for 2 with a double and three runs scored while David Peterson also doubled for the Cougars (0-3, 0-0 CCAA West 2). Adam Goot was 2 for 3 with three RBIs in the loss.
