Westfield rolls past Falconer, 78-33

FALCONER — Twelve different Westfield players scored, but none reached double figures in the Wolverines’ 78-33 Division 2 West win over Falconer.

Matt See, Evan Hauser and Michael Johnson led Westfield (13-6, 9-2) with nine points apiece while Zachary Roache, Colby Bills and Andrew Baribeau each had eight.

The Wolverines led 24-6 after the first quarter and 44-14 at halftime.

Baribeau grabbed nine rebounds, Ryan Jafarjian had five rebounds and Nathan Culbreth handed out eight assists in the win.

Bobby Samuelson led the Golden Falcons (4-14, 1-10) with 10 points, eight rebounds and three steals; Nate Seaholm had six rebounds and Ben Schrader grabbed five rebounds.

Olean 76, Dunkirk 41

The Dunkirk Marauders faced a tough test on their senior night going up against the top ranked team in the state in terms of Olean and fell short, losing by a final score of 76-41 in CCAA Div. 1 West league action on Monday at Dunkirk High School.

Olean came out red-hot from the field, shooting 11-14 from 3-point range in the first half.

“They shot lights out — they looked like the Golden State Warriors,” said Dunkirk assistant coach Joe Pucciarelli. “They came out and played like the No. 1 team in the state that they are.”

Dunkirk was led by Earl Stewart with 16 points while A’Marion Tell added eight points of his own.

Olean was led by Brian Ramarge with 17 points on five 3-pointers and Jack Dwaileebe with 12 points on four 3-pointers.

Dunkirk (1-16) celebrated the career of their lone senior, Koty Leeper.

The Marauders are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Hutch-Tech for a 11:30 a.m. tipoff.

Franklinville 74,

Pine Valley 48

SOUTH DAYTON — Franklinville’s Josh Haskell drilled four 3-pointers and scored 27 points en route to a 74-48 victory over Pine Valley in CCAA Div. 2 East action on Thursday.

Franklinville started strong, scoring six 3-pointers in the first half.

“(Franklinville) shot the ball well tonight,” said Pine Valley head coach Chris Buczek. “They pressured us and kept us on our heels all night.”

Pine Valley was led by Christian Ortiz with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Corey Ellis pitched in nine points of his own.

Pine Valley (5-11, 3-5) will be back on the court Monday when they take on Ellicottville.

Portville 55,

Gowanda 51

PORTVILLE — Dalton Tobola had 10 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in the third quarter as Portville took control of a 55-51 Division 1 East win over Gowanda.

Tobola finished with 24 points, including 8 in the first quarter, to go along with six steals. Noah Pullins added 12 points while Nathan Kloc had seven assists, Jarett Mathes had six steals and Zayne Tarr had 12 rebounds to go along with two blocked shots for Portville (5-14, 2-8).

John Ondus led Gowanda (2-17, 0-10) with 14 points and four steals, Aaron Colantino and Justin Kohn each had 10 points, and Damen MacLeod grabbed 15 rebounds.
