Fredonia stays nearly perfect on the courts against Dunkirk, 5-0

The Fredonia boys tennis team got their first win of the season against Dunkirk, 5-0, in a Section VI tennis match at Dunkirk High School, on Tuesday. The Hillbillies dominated the match, only surrendering one point on their way to sweeping the doubles and singles competition.

Hillbillies Dan Gifford, Neil Gens and Jimmy Rush all earned singles victories — winning their matches 2-0 without giving up a point. The Fredonia team of Neil Cosico and Trevor Napoli won their doubles matches 2-0 without surrendering a point, while the team of Max Kinkela and Caleb Reynolds won 2-0 and gave Dunkirk their only point on the day.

Fredonia (1-0) opens up their first home game against Maple Grove on Monday.

Dunkirk (0-1) will try to bounce back today when they travel to Westfield.
