Vintage Golf Outing held Aug. 31 at The Vineyards

Special to The OBSERVER

The Dunkirk Historical Society and Museum held its inaugural Vintage Golf Outing 2019 at The Vineyards on Aug. 31.

The event was very successful and was a big hit with the theme of “vintage golf.” One team even brought their own caddies, and all in full themed dress. There was a tie for the winning team, between the teams of Dan Allessi and Phil Kleeburger, and of John Bogardus and Jeff Cook. Best dressed team award winners were Sam Patton and Bob Stover. The longest drive went to Nick Anson and Becca Eggleston, while the closest to the pin was Sam Patton.

“We would like to thank all of the museum volunteers, museum staff and The Vineyards for all of their hard work, notably Greg Catalano for spearheading this event. We would also like to thank all of our local sponsors for helping make this tournament a great success,” they said. “We look forward to planning next years Vintage Golf Outing as this one was enjoyed by everyone. The golfers are already planning for next year, so start looking for your outfits.”
