Lady ‘Billie sets pool record

ALLEGANY — The Fredonia Lady ‘Billies girls swim team closed out the regular season with a 124-61 victory on Thursday over Allegany-Limestone.

Thursday featured a record-setting performance by Fredonia’s Elizabeth Pucci-Schaefer, who broke the Allegany-Limestone pool record with a diving score of 265 points.

Fredonia also picked up a trio of relay wins on the day, with the 200 medley relay team of Abby Roth, Tori Spacc, Amelia Harper and Lillee Gould coming in first, as did the 200 freestyle relay team of Gould, Jane Fortna, Harper and Julia Fortna. In addition, Jenna Sherlock, Abby Roth, Jane Fortna and Tori Spacc won the 400 freestyle relay.

Individually, Spacc won both the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke, while Roth won the 100 backstroke and Harper won the 500 freestyle. Sherlock won the 50 freestyle, while Greta Frerichs won the 200 IM.

Fredonia is back in the pool next for the CCAA County Championships on Thursday, Oct. 24 for the diving championships and Saturday, Oct. 26 for the swimming championships.
