The Fredonia Lady ‘Billies girls soccer team had their biggest highlight of the season on Senior Night with a 1-0 overtime victory over the Dunkirk Lady Marauders in a defensive battle under the lights at SUNY Fredonia. It comes as no surprise that it was a senior defender that was awarded the highest honor of the two teams when the CCAA West All-Stars were released at season’s end.

Fredonia senior defender Ella Gould achieved First Team All-Star status in her final year playing for her father, Fredonia head coach Brett Gould. As a senior co-captain, Ella Gould led the back line of the Lady ‘Billies in her fourth varsity season. Another Fredonia fourth-year senior, Kazlin Beers, was selected to the Second Team All-Stars, while Fredonia senior defender Emily Smith received Honorable Mention. A fourth Fredonia senior, Paige Supkoski, received league recognition as the team’s sportsmanship award winner. Supkoski scored the game-winning goal in the Senior Night victory over the Lady Marauders.

Despite a tough season, Dunkirk was represented on the league honors, as well. Senior goalkeeper and co-captain Kymi Nance received recognition as a Second Team All-Star, along with junior co-captain defender Mia Piede. Senior midfielder and co-captain Kaitlyn Davis was given Honorable Mention, while Piede was Dunkirk’s sportsmanship award winner.

Falconer/Cassadaga Valley was also represented throughout the league honors. Senior leading scorer Isabella Penhollow and senior defender Sarah Disbro were both selected as First Team All-Stars. Grace Penhollow, also a senior, was named a Second Team All-Star, while senior Isabella Ruiz and junior Courtnee Peterson were both given Honorable Mention. Junior midfielder Grace Elder was the team’s sportsmanship award winner.

Alyssa Spring of Allegany-Limestone, also a First Team All-Star, was the league’s leading scorer with 40 goals to lead all of Section VI. She finished with 89 points, which was second in Section VI. Falconer’s Isabella Penhollow had 23 goals and 13 assists for 59 points, which ranked sixth in Section VI.
