Fredonia claimed a 89-80 swimming and diving win over Panama/Chautauqua Lake/Maple Grove on Tuesday.

It was a closely contested meet with four swimmers winning an individual event for

Fredonia, including Nick Wittmeyer in the 50y freestyle, along with a team win in the 200y medley relay. Matt Brockelbank also won for Fredonia, in the 100y breaststroke.

The depth of Fredonia’s team, with its third swimmer finishing ahead of the visiting team’s third swimmer in many of the events was the key to Fredonia winning the meet.

RJ Helt took home the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.27) and the 100-yard freestyle (53.15) for the winners, and Panama/Chautauqua Lake/Maple Grove’s Austin Strong grabbed wins in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.00) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:48.16).
