The NorthLake Family Recreation Center has received a grant from the Lake Shore Savings Bank Community Reinvestment Fund to support the purchase of a new soccer scoreboard at their facilities in Westfield. The Lake Shore Savings Bank Community Reinvestment Fund has been established to provide funding for a variety of community organizations within the Bank’s area of service. The grant will be used to purchase a new electronic LED scoreboard on one of NorthLake’s soccer fields that is used by various youth and high school athletes.

The NorthLake Family Recreation Center, which was incorporated in 1997, is a private non-profit corporation run by an all-volunteer Board of Directors that provides facilities for soccer, baseball, basketball, and volleyball at their facility on Nichols Avenue in Westfield. Their mission is: To improve the quality of life in the Northern Chautauqua County area by providing facilities and programs where people of all ages can enjoy a variety of recreational activities; safely, inexpensively, and in a wholesome environment. Approximately 2500 youth participate in various team sports at the facility annually, with over 12,000 spectators and casual users enjoying the grounds as well.

The Center is recognized under section 501 (C) (3) by the Internal Revenue Service and all contributions are tax deductible. The group continues to seek donations for projects to improve youth recreational opportunities.
