After 12 years of providing playing opportunities for young baseball players in Western New York, the Southline Shamrocks hosted the Chadwick Bay Ballers Blue team in the last-ever Southtowns Travel League game — the 12U B Bracket Championship on Sunday morning.

The game surely didn’t disappoint.

The Chadwick Bay Ballers took home the championship with an 11-8 win.

A.J. Kinney continued his exceptional season on the mound, starting the game while pitching four innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out three. Raynathan Santiago and Ryan Kinney pitched in relief, with Kinney recording the save.

Santiago had the first over-the-fence home run of his career in the third inning, picking up two of his three RBIs on the day. Issiah Ruiz, Joel Stein Jr., Santiago, and Paul Trippy III contributed multiple hits for the Ballers. Santiago, A.J. Kinney, Trippy, Jackson Remington, Danny Hoth and Drew Gustafson all stole multiple bases on the day.

The Bombers mob teammate Raynathan Santiago after his first-ever over-the-fence home run during the third inning.

The Chadwick Bay Ballers 12U Blue and Red Teams played in 40 scrimmages, regular-season games, or tournament games as well as provided regular practice opportunities from September 2019 until this past weekend. The Ballers are recruiting players, coaches and managers for the upcoming season that will start in late September.
