Pencek, Kawski roll first career 300 games

Zack Kawski and Jaxson Pencek have reached perfection for the first time.

The two local youth bowlers recorded 300 games on different days recently.

Kawski, a sophomore at Fredonia High School where he bowls for the Hillbillies, rolled his 300 on Feb. 16 during the Tuesday Night Adult Junior League at Lucky Lanes.

Kawski began the night with 12 straight strikes for a perfect game. He followed with games of 164 and 224 for a three-game series of 688.

Kawski bowls with his father, Scott, in the league and averages a 192. He also bowls on Saturday mornings in the Lucky Lanes Junior Bowling program, where he averages 184.

Pencek recorded his perfect game in the New York State Pepsi Regional Tournament at Broadway Sports Center on Feb. 21. He started the day with a 300 and followed with games of 184 and 234 for a 718 series.

Pencek also bowls in the Lucky Lanes Junior Bowling program on Saturdays where he averages a 184. He is a junior at Dunkirk High School and bowls for the Marauders.
