Week 1 honorees

Lotter, Ortiz among players recognized for their top performances

Four Chautauqua County high school football players have been recognized as Connolly Cup/ADPRO Sports Week One top performers.

Jaylen Butera of Jamestown, Aidan Kennedy of Southwestern, Matt Lotter of Fredonia and Christian Ortiz of Dunkirk received that distinction for their performances in the season-opening weekend.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and shortened football season, the Connolly Cup will not be awarded for 2021, although the Connolly Cup Committee will still be present at games and will be recognizing the outstanding players of the week.

Other high school players to earn Connolly Cup/ADPRO Sports Week One honors are Hayden Carder (Frontier), Carson Harper (Maryvale), Hunter Hollock (Tonawanda), Makari Inabenet (Bishop Timon), Keith Jackson (South Park), Tyrell Law(Sweet Home), Christian Pagano (Depew), Cody Phillips (Lancaster), Isaiah Simmons (West Seneca West), Tyler Weigel (Grand Island) and Garrett White (Clarence).
