Dunkirk/Fredonia shut out 3-0 by West Seneca East

The Dunkirk/Fredonia Steelers modified hockey team moved to 1-1 Sunday after a 3-0 loss to the West Seneca East Trojans.

The Steelers faced a battalion-sized Trojans roster of 21 skaters to just 12 for the Steelers. Strong defensive play from Colin Pergrim, Connor Nowicki, Nathan Keefe and Ryan Wegrzynowski held the Trojans to just two goals.

West Seneca East was awarded an empty-net goal late in the third period as the result of a delayed Steelers penalty. Braiden Truby had another strong game between the pipes turning away 22 of 24 shots.

The Steelers’ next opponent will be the Mill modified team Sunday at 3:45 p.m. at HarborCenter in Buffalo.
