Frewsburg boys roll to soccer win over SC/Forestville

FREWSBURG — Brendan Devereaux, Zack Carr and Lucas Eckman had two goals apiece as Frewsburg blanked Silver Creek/Forestville 9-0 in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Central Division boys soccer action Thursday.

Garrett Brink, Trent Bjork and Jackie Barmatosta also scored for the Bears (4-4-0, 2-2-0). Carr added four assists and Landon Stormer had two while Eckman and Zayne Cline each had one.

The Black Knights fell to 0-6-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the league.

HOLLAND NETS HAT TRICK

NORTH COLLINS — Cole Holland completed a hat trick in the first 17 minutes of the game and Westfield/Brocton went on to beat North Collins 7-0 in the Central Division.

Carson Swanson added two goals while Josh Barresi and Darien Swanson each had a goal for the Wolverines (4-1-1, 3-0-0). Darien Swanson chipped in three assists and BArresi had two while Donovan St. George and Mihir Patel each had one.

The Eagles fell to 2-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the league.

CARDINALS EVEN RECORD

RANDOLPH — Drew Hind and Cooper Freeman gave Randolph a 2-0 first-half lead and the Cardinals beat Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley 4-1 in the East Division.

Ryder Smith and Cody Slade scored after the break for the Cardinals (3-3-0, 2-2-0). Griffin Nelson had two assists and Mathurin Griffith had one.

Ray Fantaske scored from Christian Horn for Salamanca/Cattaraugus-Little Valley (0-7-0, 0-4-0).

T’BIRDS BLANK MAPLE GROVE

JAMESTOWN — Jalen Parkhurst’s goal from Carson D’Anthony in the 15th minute sent Chautauqua Lake past Maple Grove 1-0 in the Central Division.

Freshman Brendan Klossner earned the shutout with 13 saves in net for the Thunderbirds (3-2-0, 2-1-0).

Andrew Auer made three saves for the Red Dragons (5-2-0, 3-1-0).

GATORS SCORE 12

ALLEGANY — Zach Luce had a hat trick while Eric Spring and Jacob Marino had two goals apiece as Allegany-Limestone shut out Dunkirk 12-0 in the West Division.

Cooper Wildzewski, Sean Conroy, Huddy Kwiatkowski, Maddox DeLong and Mason Deming also scored for the Gators (8-0-0, 4-0-0). DeLong and Conroy each had two assists while Luce, Tyler Curran, Wilczewski, Deming, Spring and Josh Graham each had one assist.

Ashton Witkowski made 18 saves for the Marauders (0-3-0, 0-3-0), who host Olean on Tuesday.

“We’ve been playing with 11 and we should be at 15 by Tuesday,” Dunkirk head coach Shawn Taylor said. “We’ve gotten through this rollercoaster time. Our season starts Tuesday.”

HOFFMAN POWERS OLEAN

OLEAN — Stephen Hoffman scored twice to lead Olean to a 5-0 West Division win over Jamestown.

Thomas Bates, Quintin Allen and Dominik Kahle also scored for the Huskies (4-4-1, 2-1-1). Al Linderman had two assists while Allen, Hoffman and Bates each added one.

The Red Raiders fell to 0-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the league.

GOLDEN COUGARS RALLY

SOUTH DAYTON — Falconer/Cassadaga Valley scored twice in the second half to beat Pine Valley/Gowanda 3-2 in East Division play.

Ian Andersen tallied from Finley Pavlok and Alex Reynolds scored from Christian Wilshire after halftime for the Golden Cougars (5-3-0, 3-1-0). Their first-half goal was scored by Coleson Barber from Ethyn Gilbert.

Darwin Westlund scored both goals for the Panthers (1-4-0, 1-3-0), first from Wayne Libby and then from Noah Frontuto.

PORTVILLE WINS AGAIN

PORTVILLE — Undefeated Portville beat Ellicottville 4-1 in the East Division.

The Eagles (2-5-1, 2-2-0) got on the scoreboard first when Sam Edwards tallied his 10th goal of the season.

For the Panthers (7-0-1, 4-0-0), Michael Cole, Cole Faulkner, Brady German and Bryan Randolph scored goals. Kyle Mathes and Cole each had an assist.
