GOWANDA — Jayden Fish’s single was Gowanda’s lone hit in a 12-5 nonleague season-opening baseball loss to Hamburg on Tuesday.

Blake Herman threw the first three innings and allowed no runs for the Panthers. Logan Ruff threw the next two innings and allowed two runs before Gowanda gave up nine runs in the sixth inning.

The Panthers walked 12 times at the plate.
