Dunkirk falls to Holland in D2 South; ‘Billies roll Depew

Dunkirk played host to Holland in Division 2 South girls flag football on Wednesday and suffered a 26-16 loss at Karl Hoeppner Field.
The Marauders fall to 0-4 in the league and overall, while Holland improves to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league.
‘BILLIES KEEP ROLLING
Fredonia exploded for 24 points in the second half to get past Depew 31-7 in Division 2 South action at the Orange Bowl.
Francesca Pucci led the Fredonia attack on the ground with 110 yards and a touchdown. Pucci also caught one touchdown pass from Ella Koopman.

Emma Patterson, Natalia DiPalma and Koopman all reached paydirt on the ground from 37, 76 and 72, respectively.trio.
Defensively, Rosaliz Aponte had four flag pulls, Koopman defended four passes and had two flag pulls, Elizabeth Morris had two sacks, Patterson and Lily Runkel had one sack each, and Brianna Whitfield defended two passes.
Fredonia improves to 5-1 overall and stands at 3-1 in the league.

The annual Sportsmanship Symposium for area high school student athletes will be held Friday at Northwest Arena in Jamestown. Standing, from the left, are Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame president and inductee Randy Anderson (Class of 2022) and symposium coordinator Bob Goold, who is also a CSHOF inductee (Class of 2020). The men are holding photos of CSHOF inductees Kay Gould (1982), Sarah Burnett (Class of 2022) and Mel Swanson (Class of 2015). They will give talks to the students. Another speaker will be Kevin Hind, who is a member of the Cattaraugus County Hall of Fame.
