Cole leads Eagles to T&F victory

MAYVILLE — Jada Cole claimed three events as the Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton girls track and field team defeated Fredonia 86-55 on senior night in Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association action Tuesday at Chautauqua Lake Central School.

Cole’s night was highlighted by a personal best in the triple jump reaching 32 feet, 10 inches. She won the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches and she sprinted to first in the 200 meters at 27.3 seconds.

Fredonia’s effort was led by a pair of double winners in Mariella Russo and Delaney Kaiser. Russo won both hurdles, claiming the 100-meter hurdles in 19.3 and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:14.0, while Kaiser sprinted to victories in the 100 meters and 400 meters at 13.6 and 1:03.9, respectively.

Nathan Keefe, Lenieth Velez-Olmo and Trenton Krenzer claimed two events each to lead the Fredonia boys past Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton 78-61.

Keefe claimed the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.8 and the 400 meters at 55.1; Velez-Olmo won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles at 1:08.2 and the 200 meters in 24.4; and Krenzer claimed the distance events winning the 1,600 and 3,200 meters at 5:03.7 and 11:48.4, respectively.

SOUTHWESTERN SWEEPS GOLDEN COUGARS

WEST ELLICOTT — Connor Young was a triple winner and Neves Hoose was a double winner as Southwestern beat Falconer/Cassadaga Valley 89-52 in Division 1 action at the Fran Sirianni Athletic Complex.

Young took the long jump (19-10), triple jump (39-2) and 100 meters (11.6), while Hoose captured the 200 meters (23.8) and 400 meters (53.8) for the Trojans (5-0, 4-0).

The Golden Cougars fell to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the league.

In the girls meet, Marlana Cresanti, Emma Lewis and Alexis Grijalva were double winners for Southwestern in a 107-33 victory.

Cresanti took the 100 meters (13.1) and high jump (4-10.5), Lewis won the 1,500 meters (5:00.9) and 3,000 meters (10:10.57), and Grijalva captured the 400 meters (1:01.1) and 200 meters (27.2) for the Trojans (5-0, 4-0).

Hannah Madonia claimed the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.1) and long jump (14-5.5) for the Golden Cougars.

ELLERY — Mattie Evans-Brown was a quadruple winner for Randolph as the Cardinals defeated Maple Grove 78-60 in girls action.

Evans-Brown captured the 100 meters (13.5), 200 meters (29.2), 400-meter hurdles (1:13) and triple jump (31-1.75). Her teammate, Eve Adams, claimed the long jump (15-0.75), pole vault (9-3) and high jump (4-10). Brooke Reding also won the shot put (27-4) and discus (83-1.5) for Randolph.

In the boys meet, Roan Kelly, Talon Rowland and Maverick Adams were all double winners for Randolph in an 84-57 victory.

Kelly took the 1,600 meters (4:42.2) and 800 meters (1:57), Adams captured the 110-meter hurdles (17.4) and discus (112-7), and Rowland claimed the 100 meters (11.0) and 400 meters (51.6).

Jonah Foley was a triple winner for the Red Dragons in the triple jump (41-2.25), long jump (20-3) and high jump (6-0).

JAMESTOWN — Noah Burch was a quadruple winner for Jamestown as he led the boys past Frontier 88-53 in Erie County Interscholastic Conference action at the Martin Road Athletic Complex.

Burch claimed the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and long jump for the Red & Green (4-0), posting times of 11.2, 22.5, 51.3, respectively, and a distance of 20 feet and 8.5 inches.

Javi Matos and Emily Cardinale were double winners for the Jamestown girls, but they still came up short to Frontier 74-62.

Matos won the shot put and discus for Jamestown (3-2, 2-2) with throws of 29 feet, 9 inches and 95 feet, 8 inches, respectively. Cardinale earned first in pole vault reaching a height of 10 feet and the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.1 seconds.
