Palisin throws perfect game in Fredonia victory

FREDONIA — Danielle Palisin doesn’t find herself in the pitcher’s circle very often, but when she does she makes it count.

Tuesday afternoon was the most recent example as she tossed a perfect game, leading Fredonia to a 10-0 softball victory over Jamestown in a Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association Division 1 West game.

The right-hander struck out 12 and helped her own cause with a pair of hits.

“She was changing speeds, locating her fastball, and throwing her curve and screwball for strikes,” Fredonia coach Jesse Beers said. “When she’s had an opportunity to throw, she’s been fantastic … I’m glad she’s on our team.”

The Hillbillies broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning and cruised to victory, raising their record to 13-0 overall and 9-0 in the division.

Joining Palisin with two hits were Naomi Muck, Cassie Cramer and Rihanna Benner.
