Red & Green golf to represent CCAA in sectional championships at Bartlett CC

FORESTVILLE — Jamestown brought its “A” golf game to the Section VI Team Qualifier on Thursday at Tri-County Country Club.

Led by Evan Maloney’s 1-over 37, the Red & Green posted a five-man team score of 162 to claim first among four teams from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association.

Fredonia, led by Ryan Kelly’s 38, was second with a 169, followed by Maple Grove with a 176 and Randolph with a 185. Evan Steffen shot a 37 to pace the Red Dragons, while Carter Davis’ 44 topped the Cardinals.

The Red & Green will now represent the CCAA at the sectional championships on Monday at Barlett CC in Olean. They will be competing for the sectional team title along with all of the other league champions.

Randolph: Matt Beaver 45, Jaxon Morrison 48, Cody Slade 48, Carter Davis 44, Nick Beaver 48.

NEWMAN IS MEDALIST FOR FALCONER

FALCONER — Behind medalist Evan Newman’s 42, Falconer recorded a pair of victories at Breezewood Links.

The Golden Falcons (6-17, 3-12) defeated Chautauqua Lake/Westfield (10-13, 5-8) 36-19 and Clymer/Sherman/Panama (5-8, 9-14) 35-20. In the other match, Clymer/Sherman/Panama knocked off Chautauqua Lake/Westfield 32-23.

Braylon Swanson’s 47 led the way for the Eagles, while Konner Morgan’s 50 topped the Wolfpack.
