Fredonia unified hoops reaches championship
YORKSHIRE — The Fredonia unified basketball team needed a clutch moment with the game tied in the final minute against Pioneer and a trip to the championships on the line.
Julian Ocasio was the one to rise to the occasion for the Hillbillies, hitting the game-winning shot with 45 seconds left to secure the Fredonia win 35-33.
Ocasio led Fredonia with 12 points, Raylee Flanders scored 7 and Austin Duliba added another 6 in the win.
Pioneer was led by Ward Sypniewski with a game-high 14 points and Carter Kessler added 6.
Fredonia (8-1) will play the winner of Frewsburg and Pine Valley on Thursday at The R.O.C.K. Sports Complex in West Seneca.
