LAKEWOOD — Registration for the July 4 Firecracker Run is underway at the Lakewood YMCA.

The event, which will start at 9 a.m. will consist of the 10K run, a 2-mile run and a 2-mile walk. Registration can be completed at the Lakewood YMCA, 183 E. Fairmount Ave. or online at https://runsignup.com/Race/NY/Lakewood/LakewoodY-Firecracker10K2MileRun.

Preregistration (through June 23) is $35, which includes a choice of a women’s tank top, a men’s sleeveless T-shirt or a unisex T-shirt. Late registration (July 24-July 3) is $35, but does not include a T-shirt. Registration will also be held from 7-8:30 a.m. the day of the race at Lakewood Beach. The fee is $40.

A free kids (2-12) race, sponsored by the Greater Chautauqua Federal Credit Union, will begin following the start of the main race at Packard Estates. The money hunt, sponsored by M&T Bank, for youngsters 2-12, will follow immediately after the kids race at the lower playground. There is no fee or registration for the kids’ events.

Prizes for the Firecracker race will be awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers for both the 10K and two-mile runs. Age-group awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each division. The top-five male and female finishers will receive awards for the two-mile walk.
