Playoff field set
Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton, Gowanda/Pine Valley to host quarterfinals

Southwestern/Frewsburg has navigated its first season as a merged football program with flying colors.
In fact, the Trojans are the lone area team to secure a top seed in the Section VI playoffs, which begin later this week.
Representing Class C South, Southwestern/Frewsburg will take on No. 4 Medina of Class C North in the Class C quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Sirianni Athletic Complex.
The other top seeds in the remaining classifications are: Bennett, Class AA; Williamsville North, Class A1; Health Sciences/Buffalo Academy of Science, Class A2; Williamsville South, Class B1; Barker/Royalton Hartland, Class C North; and Newfane, Class D.
Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton, representing Class C South, and Eden/North Collins, representing Class C North, are the lone area programs to earn a No. 2 seed. The Eagles will entertain No. 3 Akron of Class C North at 7 p.m. Friday at Chautauqua Lake, while the Raiders will host No. 3 Portville/Cuba-Rushford/Bolivar-Richburg of Class C South at 7 p.m. Thursday at Eden.

Finally, No. 4 Salamanca of Class C South will travel to Barker to take on No. 1 Barker/Royalton-Hartland of Class C North at 7 p.m. Friday.
The semifinals in Class C will be held Nov. 7 and No. 8 at the higher seeds. The final is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at Highmark Stadium.
Thursday’s Class D quarterfinal will find No. 8 Allegany-Limestone/Hinsdale traveling to No. 1 Newfane at 7 p.m., while Friday will feature three games — No. 5 Silver Creek/Forestville at No. 4 Randolph at 7 p.m., No. 7 Cattaraugus-Little Valley at No. 2 Wilson at 7 p.m., and No. 6 Franklinville/Ellicottville vs. No. 3 Gowanda/Pine Valley at Gowanda at 7:30 p.m.
The semifinals will be held Nov. 7 and No. 8 at the higher seeds; and the final is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at Highmark Stadium.
In Class AA, No. 5 Niagara Falls will travel to No. 4 Lancaster at 7 p.m. Thursday; No. 3 Jamestown — the only area team in this bracket — will entertain No. 6 Lockport at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Strider Field; and No. 2 Orchard Park will host No. 7 Hutch Tech at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The semifinals will be held Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, pitting the Niagara Falls/Lancaster winner vs. No. 1 Bennett; and the Lockport/Jamestown winner vs. the Hutch Tech/Orchard Park winner at the higher seed. The semifinal winners will square off at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14 at Highmark Stadium.
The schedule for the Chuck Funke Memorial Bowl has also been announced.
Among area teams, Dunkirk, the No. 6 seed in Class B2, will travel to No. 5 Starpoint of Class B1 for a semifinal game at 6 p.m. today. The other semifinal will feature No. 6 Cheektowaga of Class B1 at No. 5 Maryvale of Class B2 at 6 p.m. today. The semifinalists will meet in the final on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at a site and time to be announced.
Finally, in Class C, No. 6 Falconer/Cassadaga Valley/Maple Grove of Class C South will travel to Tapestry to take on WNY Maritime/Tapestry of Class C North at 7 p.m. Friday, while on Saturday, No. 7 Alden of Class C North will travel to Clymer to take on No. 5 Clymer/Sherman/Panama of Class C South at 1:30 p.m.
The final between the semifinal winners will be played at a site and time to be determined.
