Hilliker earns 61st Wednesday Travel League victory with 74 at Cable Hollow GC
RUSSELL, Pa. — Josh Hilliker shot the low round of 74 at Cable Hollow Golf Course to earn his 61st career tour victory, moving into a tie with Al Etzel for third place all-time.
Ed Tofil finished second with 83 and Dave Wallace was third with 84. Hilliker led both the front (38) and back (36) nines.
In the B Flight, Gary Haase was the winner after a tiebreaker with Dave Franklin. The winner of the Bruce “Java” Chrabasz Commissioner’s Award was Phil Hopkins. Haase also moved into 10th place on the All-Time Points List, passing Mike Wolfe.
Untied birdies were recorded by: A Flight — Hilliker (Nos. 1, 13, 16), Wallace (Nos. 3, 5), Tofil (No. 6), John Waterman (No. 7), Pat Weaver (Nos. 11, 14) and Jeff Nelson (No. 15); B Flight — Haase (Nos. 2, 6), Jeff Marsowicz (Nos. 3, 7), Tom Sacilowski (No. 8), Franklin (No. 11) and Lenny Leszkowicz (No. 12).
Closest to the pin were: Nelson (No. 2), Sacilowski (No. 5), Haase (No. 11), Hilliker (No. 13) and Leszkowicz (No. 17). Winners of the Steeplechase were: Hilliker in A Flight and Haase in B Flight.
